Anti-Aging Skin Care For The Cold

The cold is nice. As a matter of fact, many people enjoy a comfortable cool temperature rather than a hot, seething, burning and even humid heat. That’s why air conditioners exist, after all. But the truth is that the cold can age you faster—being constantly exposed to the cold temperature can eventually lead to you developing wrinkles sooner than you might have wanted to (heck, nobody even wants wrinkles really!). This is why we’ve compiled a list of things you can do in order to make sure that you can combat the negative effects of the cold to your skin.

Never Forget to Moisturize

Moisturizing is an extra step you would have to do for your face routine, but to be honest you are likely to thank yourself in the future if you continue. Moisturizing will help to keep your skin elastic and soft, preventing the early development of wrinkles and ensuring that you will keep your youth for much longer. The cold can zap the moisture right out of your skin. This is why it is important for you to religiously slather on a good moisturizer every day.

Use a heavier moisturizer than you normally would during winters or cold weather. This will prevent your skin from getting dry and taut, leading to that uncomfortable tight feeling. A heavier moisturizer will compensate for the moisture lost because of the cold.

Drink More Water

It’s not enough to moisturize from the outside. Slathering on moisturizer will not be able to do so much for you if you can’t so much as even meet your daily water intake requirements. Water has so many benefits apart from just keeping your body clean and moisturized, so it can’t possibly hurt to reasonably increase your water intake. Just remember to keep a bottle of water nearby and at the ready so you can take a sip every now and then. If you are working, keep your bottle by you and this will serve as a reminder for you to drink every now and then.

Anti-Oxidants

Get your daily dose of anti-oxidants, those nice friendly things that prevent free radical damage. This not only keeps you young, but also fights off cancer cells. The best part is that you can get your anti-oxidants from something that you’re already likely to be drinking every day—coffee or tea. If you don’t drink those beverages, then you can simply take some multivitamins or, just to get even more specific, vitamin E.

Anti-oxidants are actually a great addition to your daily life and habits, so you might as well continue getting as much of it as you can on a daily basis. There’s one tip that goes beyond cold weather!

Eat Healthily

Eating more fruits and vegetables will not only get you stuffed minus all that bad stuff, but it’s good for your body as well. You’ll be able to get all these vitamins and minerals that will help you not only to stay young, but to also improve your skin.
