Difference Between Buying A House And Building A House

You really want a house of your own and you have been thinking about it over and over again, but you just cannot seem to decide which way you want to go about it? The feeling you have is completely normal. Every first time home owner will tell you the same thing – buying a house is one of the biggest decisions one will have to make in their life time, but the truth is every one who brought a house never regretted doing it, in fact some even say they wish they had done it sooner.

So my advice to you is to draw up a detailed accounting plan, include all the additional costs (positive and negative) associated with the building or the plot and just go for it.

In my personal opinion it is more fun to build a house instead of buying it, however the entire process can be exhausting to someone else as it does require your full participation in all areas and stage of the building process. It is also more stressful in having to deal with all the constructors, especially if you come across one who claims to be a professional, but they are not. Choosing the right plot and making all the other nitty gritty decisions that has to be made during the building process. This can be tiring to some people.

Advantages of building your own home

Some of the advantages of building your own home include:
You have a chance to design your home the way you want it and can suit your family style and taste. In 2007 building stats showed that the cost of building material has increased considerably over the past couple of years, before it used to be cheaper to build than buying a finished house. In our days this is no longer the case, however it is still cheaper to buy an old property and renovate it with your own personal taste instead of building it from scratch.

Advantage of buying your own home
One main advantage of buying an old or existing property is primarily its location, simply because it is extremely difficult to find a free plot in an old suburb and if you find one it can be very costly.

I hope this article, will enable you to make that big decision between you buying a house or building it from scratch.
