How To Travel For Cheap

With the price of airline tickets, fuel, and hotels today, it’s tough to travel. But that  doesn’t mean it’s impossible; most things in life that are worth having are sometimes the hardest to obtain! If you’re a fan of deals, coupons, discounts, price slashes, etc., you know that a spectacular deal is not often easily found. It takes some scoping out, some research. In the end, you can  find the best offer out there, while saving a bunch of moolah in the process. What’s better than that? For those of you who need a little shove in the bargain hunting direction, you’ve come to the right place. Let’s take a look at a few ways that you can travel for cheap. Did you hear that? Hawaii is calling.

  1. Organize Your Ideas: Where do you want to go? Camping in upstate New York? On a cruise to Bermuda? San Francisco to see the Golden Gate? A bike trip across country? Try to be realistic with your options (as far as how much you truly want to spend; remember that going outside of the country will cost a lot more than if you stay inside), but still jot down everything that comes to mind. You can always rule out the trip to Australia later if it’s not feasible. If you don’t have a budget, but still want to try and save (who doesn’t?), that’s more than fine too. *Remember that taking a vacation doesn’t have to break the bank; just getting out of the office or out of the house for a weekend getaway can still serve as an excellent hiatus.
  2. Search, Search, Search: You don’t have to study finance or have an online accounting degree to know a great bargain when you see one, although knowing numbers certainly doesn’t hurt. Your first step is to search around; you’ll probably find the most results online, but travel agencies may offer some help as well. Don’t just settle for the first place or deal that crosses your path; know that there are sites such as Groupon.com, Orbitz.com, Kayak.com, Travelocity.com, and Bookit.com that are available to search for the best deals. Some sites offer deals as large as 50% off hotels and travel options!
  3. Be Aware: Of the dates that you are departing and returning if you’re flying. Fridays and Sundays tend to be more expensive than if you were to fly on a Thursday or a Monday. Traveling in off-peak times will ensure for a less expensive flight. Also, it can’t hurt to check out if you have any frequent flyer miles that you can use for your trip. It may not be much, but if you have even a small amount, it can save you a few bucks. Depending on if you’ve stayed at a certain hotel chain multiple times, they accrue points as well. It’s worth a phone call to find out.
  4. Go All-Inclusive: If you want to indulge a bit (and biking, hiking, and camping aren’t your cup of tea), consider an all-inclusive vacation. You pay everything before you get there, which lets you know exactly what you’ll be paying with no extra costs involved. Once you do get there, feel free to indulge in anything and everything- you’ve already paid for it and the cost can’t get any higher, so why not!?
  5. By using OneTravel coupons you can avail hotel bookings, car rentals, and vacation packages. Get the best discount for airfare, airline tickets and hotel bookings and plan the best vacation ever.
