According to recent studies, if you’re woman trying to conceive, you should follow the Mediterranean Diet.  The diet consists of healthy servings of foods like fish, nuts, olives, and fruits.  Eating these foods showed to almost triple the chances of women becoming pregnant while undergoing fertility treatments.  Further, women not undergoing fertility treatments and trying to conceive naturally also increased their likelihood of pregnancy.  You can increase your chances of being with child by the end of the summer by following 5 simple rules.

Kick out the Carbs
Health conscious celebrities like Brooke Burke and Penelope Cruz have been following this diet for years and almost completely eliminate carbohydrates from their diet. It’s still important to follow a balanced diet so you’re meeting all vitamin and nutrition requirements.  Good options for carbohydrates are foods like couscous and legumes, which include chickpeas.
 
Make Fish Your Friend
Make fish a staple of your diet.  There are many varieties to choose from and all are celebrated on the Mediterranean diet.  They’re a great source of protein, while being very lean and low in fat.  Favorites of people following this diet include shrimp, tuna, and tilapia.
 
Get in Those Fruits and Vegetables
While following this diet, you want to indulge in all things green.  Instead of reaching for ice cream or chocolate for dessert, opt for any type of fruit.  You can also treat yourself to different types of olives by adding them to salads and sandwiches.  Other great veggies and fruits to eat include broccoli rabe, eggplant, peppers, and tomatoes.

Become Nuts about Nuts
This diet suggests taking in lots of nuts like peanuts, almonds, hazelnuts, and cashews. Nuts are filled with heart-friendly fats, protein, fiber, and calcium that will help kick your reproductive system into high gear.
 
Olive Oil
Incorporate olive oil into your diet as a healthy fat. Dieticians suggest using extra-virgin styles because it is rich in monounsaturated fat.  Research shows that this is the key to why people living in and around the Mediterranean have such low rates of heart disease.
 
In order to truly make sure you’re properly preparing your body for motherhood, you want to also include exercise into your routine.  A 45-minute a day, 5 times a week, exercise routine consisting of cardio and weight lifting is suggested to get maximum results. Following this type of routine will help burn fat and get you to your ultimate goal of being with child.
